STORYTELLING FOR LEADERS®

Influence, Engage and Inspire

Why Storytelling for Leaders?

Picture
Organizations are changing quickly. Structures are flatter and reporting lines more complex. Staff and customers are spread around the world. And everyone is deafened by the ‘noise’ of information inundation. Yet the modern leader still needs to be able to influence and persuade in this constantly fluid environment.
The sharing of stories orally is a powerful way of cutting through. When we tell stories, people ‘get’ what we are saying – and they remember it. This is the case whether we are communicating informally (which is what we do most of the time) or in a more formal environment such as a presentation.
The Storytelling for Business program teaches you practical techniques to tap into this power and influence, engage and inspire others.

Who should attend?

Target Audiences
  • Senior leaders and executives
  • Managers, unit heads and team  leaders
  • Marketing and sales professionals
  • Consultants
  • Anyone whose role requires them to influence, engage and inspire others.
When
  • Making a connection and engaging employees
  • Instilling core values and cultivating an effective culture
  • Explaining a change, a strategy, a decision
  • Helping colleagues to think differently and overcome entrenched views
  • Inspiring action

How will I benefit?

Benefits for you
  • Communicate effectively by getting your messages to stick
  • Overcome entrenched views and learn to influence people to change their mindset and behaviour
  • Connect and build rapport with others
  • Communicate strategy, changes and decisions and connect people with the big picture
  • Bring across business value through a narrative approach rather than by data and logic alone
 Benefits for your organization
  • Enable cultural and strategic change through sharing experience and insights
  • Cut through any communication distance and distortion from senior leadership to broader organization through common stories rather than roll-outs with PowerPoint® presentations
  • Energise change through building leadership capability to communicate an inspiring purpose and enhance your ability to engage, influence and inspire people

What can I expect?

1. Set the base
Preparation and articles around the theme of storytelling in a business context.
2. Push the pace
A one-day highly interactive workshop as we strongly believe in the power of practical activities to foster learning. Throughout the day you will engage in hands-on activities designed to build your storytelling skills and confidence.

3. Apply & Thrive
With Storytelling for Leaders, the one-day workshop is followed by a unique Deliberate Practice Program (DPP). This workplace-based program includes six modules, spread over six months, which will embed and enhance what was learned in the workshop. Most of the learning you do will occur in the workplace, during the DPP, rather than at the workshop. The Deliberate Practice Program includes online support, with the opportunity to ask questions and share your experiences at any time.

The Bottom Line

1. Build rapport fast
2. Influence without relying on authority

3. Change minds and inspire action
