Of seven courses (each with 16 participants) since the course was introduced on this organization's course catalogue back in 2007, all participants have said yes to this question - 112 out of 112 people. Need This public sector organization is a large (500+ staff) EU Agency based in The Hague, The Netherlands. It is an international, multi-cultural, multi-professional, legal environment and English is its working language. The Training Manager wants a learning solution to improve oral on-the-spot, spontaneous communication of staff officials. In summary the techniques will help staff to: • structure thoughts and organize ideas quickly, • get ideas across quickly, clearly and convincingly, • be understood, recognized and accepted, • handle on the spot questions and give relevant response quickly and coherently. Overall the training will improve verbal communication of staff in their working environment and help speed up preparation and response time. Solution A two day workshop, incorporating Think on Your Feet®, was put together to meet these needs. This is a highly interactive program with sixteen participants selected from all across the organization. Preparation includes a questionnaire and post course support includes a monthly newsletter and an online refresher module. Results Following a highly successful pilot workshop the On-The-Spot Communications workshop now runs three times a years and is quickly booked up when new dates are announced in the training calendar. |
